RUDJER BOSKOVIC INSTITUTE ORGANISES OPEN DAYS

ZAGREB, May 13 (Hina) - The largest Croatian interdisciplinary institute of natural science, named after the great 18th century Croatian scientist Rudjer Boskovic, has organised Open Days from 13 to 15 May. On Thursday, the first day of this event, it hosted about 1,000 visitors, including Croatian President Stjepan Mesic.
ZAGREB, May 13 (Hina) - The largest Croatian interdisciplinary institute of natural science, named after the great 18th century Croatian scientist Rudjer Boskovic, has organised Open Days from 13 to 15 May. On Thursday, the first day of this event, it hosted about 1,000 visitors, including Croatian President Stjepan Mesic.#L# The Rudjer Boskovic Institute employes over 400 scientists in experimental and theoretical physics, chemistry, molecular biology, medicine, ecology, maritime affairs, computer science. This year, the organising committee opened 16 laboratories of the institute for the public during the Open Days. During his visit to the institute, President Mesic emphasised the importance of applying the results from fundamental theoretical research in the economy.
