ZAGREB, May 5 (Hina) - Top Croatian state officials and Roman Catholic dignitaries, archbishops and bishops from Croatia and neighbouring countries will gather in Split on 7 May to attend the jubilee celebration of the 1700th
anniversary of the martyrdom of St. Dujam, the patron-saint of the city of Split, and festivities marking the Day of Split.
ZAGREB, May 5 (Hina) - Top Croatian state officials and Roman Catholic
dignitaries, archbishops and bishops from Croatia and neighbouring
countries will gather in Split on 7 May to attend the jubilee
celebration of the 1700th anniversary of the martyrdom of St. Dujam,
the patron-saint of the city of Split, and festivities marking the Day
of Split.#L#
The event will be attended, among others, by President Stjepan Mesic
and Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, a personal envoy of the Holy Father,
Cardinal Jan Pieter Schotte, and the Apostolic Nuncio to Croatia,
Francisco-Javier Lozano.
The festivities will also pool delegations from several European
cities and the ambassadors of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia, Finland,
Belgium and Hungary, the city authorities reported on Wednesday.
