ZAGREB, May 4 (Hina) - The commission deciding on conflict on interest on Tuesday made public declarations of assets submitted by members of the Croatian Parliament.
ZAGREB, May 4 (Hina) - The commission deciding on conflict on interest on Tuesday made public declarations of assets submitted by members of the Croatian Parliament.#L# Mirko Filipovic, an independent MP elected on a Social Democratic Party (SDP) list, and Miroslav Rozic of the Party of Rights (HSP) have not yet sent a letter confirming whether or not they agree with their declarations being made public, commission acting chairman Antun Kapraljevic said. Four other members of Parliament, Florijan Boras, Dujomir Marasovic and Marko Turic of the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and Zlatko Kramaric of the Liberal Party (LS) denied permission for their declarations of assets to be made public. Kapraljevic said that Marasovic had explained his decision by stating that he would soon leave the Sabor. Turic denied in a telephone interview he was against his declaration being published, saying that he had submitted it as requested by the parliamentary protocol and that it was not necessary to sign any additional statements of approval. "I agree that everything should be made public, especially after the expiry of our four-year terms," Turic said. Kramaric said his declaration of assets had been made public several times and that there was nothing new in it, adding that he did not want anyone having access to his privacy. Kapraljevic said the commission had received 37 cases, including 13 reports and 24 requests for opinion. The first five requests for opinion will be dealt with this week and the public will be promptly informed, he said. (Hina) vm
