BRUSSELS/LJUBLJANA, April 21 (Hina) - Croatia's ambition to join the European Union already in 2007, together with Bulgaria and Romania, is completely unrealistic, the Slovene STA news agency on Wednesday quoted anonymous sources from
the European Commission in Brussels.

In its opinion on Croatia's application for membership in the EU,
published on Tuesday, the EC did not mention any date for the start of
accession talks nor a date of entry, the agency quoted the sources
adding that Croatia would need around five years to meet EU membership
criteria.
