ZAGREB, April 18 (Hina) - Over 320,000 jobless Croatians, over 500,000 retired persons whose monthly pensions are below 1,500 kuna, workers in companies which have not paid them salaries for several months and almost 100,000 employed persons whose salaries are below the average national monthly wage are exposed to the highest risk of poverty.

Statistic experts have concluded that the average one-member household with the yearly income of 19,253 kuna, namely the monthly income of 1,604 kuna, is at the poverty threshold. The household with two adults and two children needs at least to earn 40,433 kuna yearly (3,369 kuna monthly) in order not to be below the threshold of poverty. (1EUR = 7.5 kuna) (Hina) ms
