ZAGREB, April 8 (Hina) - In a letter to Croatian Parliament President Vladimir Seks, his Israeli counterpart Reuven Riblin expressed deep gratitude for leading the struggle against racism, bigotry and intolerance, said a statement issued by Seks' office on Thursday.#L# The head of the Knesset sent a letter to Seks informing him of activities regarding the marking of the world's project of remembering the Holocaust called "Every Person Has a Name". The project was launched 15 years ago and it is aimed at giving a name to the anonymous victims of the Holocaust. It is marked each year on April 19, Holocaust Remembrance Day, under the auspices of the president of the Knesset, the statement said. Stressing the important role of many governments and parliaments in Europe and the world in preventing the revival of anti-Semitism, Riblin expressed conviction that "a society in which Jews were abused and persecuted will never be a society in which any individual could live free of fear and hatred, which is why anti-Semitism does not represent a threat only to Jews, but to the entire civilisation," the statement said. At the end of his letter, Riblin thanked the Croatian parliament on its respectable role in combating anti-Semitism and extremism, the statement said. (Hina) it
