ZAGREB, April 2 (Hina) - There is room on the Croatian
telecommunications market for the profitable introduction of a third
mobile phone operator, according to a report presented at the Ministry
of the Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development on Friday.#L#
The report, prepared by the Roland Berger consulting agency, said that
the introduction of a new operator would increase the use of mobile
phones from the current 65 to 91 per cent by 2009 and reduce the
prices of services by 20 to 50 per cent. At the same time, the
government would generate an income of 35-75 million euros from
licence fees and 50-60 million euros in tax revenue.
Ministry officials said that licence bids were expected to be invited
shortly.
