Speaking at an electoral convention of her Democratic Centre (DC)
party, she said cooperation with the U.N. tribunal was going well and
that all problems with it would be solved this year.
"The Hague tribunal will write the history of South Eastern Europe and
one has to say what really happened to prevent the incorrect history
from being written," Skare-Ozbolt said.
She reiterated the DC advocated in the parliamentary foreign affairs
committee the founding of an international team of experts who
witnessed everything that happened in Croatia and the territory of the
former Yugoslavia in the 1990s.
The minister voiced confidence Croatia would be given a positive
opinion on its European Union membership application. Croatia has to
be awarded for what it has done so far, she said. "We must be aware
that we won the war and that we have to succeed in peace."
Speaking of her party, she stressed the need for the DC to become more
active in Zagreb politics.
Slavko Selendic was elected president of the party's Zagreb branch.
