PRISTINA, March 18 (Hina) - Representatives of the offices of five leading Western countries in Pristina, headed by UN Civil Administrator in Kosovo Harri Holkeri, called on Wednesday evening on all protesters in Kosovo to return to
their homes and contribute to calming down the situation caused by clashes between Serbs and Albanians in several places in the province.
PRISTINA, March 18 (Hina) - Representatives of the offices of five
leading Western countries in Pristina, headed by UN Civil
Administrator in Kosovo Harri Holkeri, called on Wednesday evening on
all protesters in Kosovo to return to their homes and contribute to
calming down the situation caused by clashes between Serbs and
Albanians in several places in the province.#L#
After a meeting at the headquarters of the UN Mission in Kosovo
(UNMIK), the officials issued a joint declaration calling on the
protesters to go back to their homes. The police and Kosovo Force will
provide for security and should be enabled to perform their duties,
reads the document.
Yesterday's incidents and those from recent days will be investigated
and those responsible for killings and acts of violence punished, the
declaration said.
