WASHINGTON, March 18 (Hina) - The Subcommittee on Europe of the US Congress House of Representatives on Wednesday endorsed a resolution calling on NATO to consider the admission of Croatia, Albania and Macedonia until 2007.

Congress House of Representatives on Wednesday endorsed a resolution
calling on NATO to consider the admission of Croatia, Albania and
Macedonia until 2007.#L#
Resolution 558 welcomes the admission of Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia,
Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia into NATO on March 29 and
conveys the support of the House of Representatives for NATO to
consider admitting the three countries of the US-Adriatic Charter
until 2007.
The chairman of the Subcommittee on Europe, Doug Bereuter, who
sponsored the resolution, said that Croatia, Albania and Macedonia had
sent troops to participate in NATO's mission in Afghanistan, while
Albania and Macedonia had deployed forces in Iraq as well.
The resolution stresses the commitment of the new Croatian government
to implement reforms that are necessary for membership in NATO and the
European Union.
