ZAGREB, March 15 (Hina) - Croatian citizens observed three minutes of silence at noon on Monday in tribute to the victims of last week's train bombings in Madrid, joining citizens of other European countries in paying their
respects.

United in thought and prayer with citizens of Europe, citizens of
Croatia expressed their deepest sympathy with the families of the
victims and the entire Spanish people. The silence was also observed
by Croatian railway workers in solidarity with their Spanish
colleagues.
The apostolic nuncio to Croatia, Francisco Javier Lozano, will say
Mass commemorating the victims of the terror attacks at the Zagreb
Cathedral at 1800 hours on Monday.
Last Friday, a day after the bomb attacks that left 200 people killed
and around 1,500 wounded, Irish prime minister Bertie Ahern called on
EU member states to observe a three-minute silence for the victims and
show solidarity with Spain.
