The 40-year-old Cesic, a policeman in north-eastern Bosnia's Brcko in
1992, pleaded guilty before the tribunal on 8 October 2003 to all 12
counts of the indictment accusing him of crimes against humanity and
violations of the laws and customs of war.
He was charged with the killing of at least 10 inmates of the Luka
detention camp and with the sexual harassment of two inmates who were
brothers. Cesic had forced them to beat each other and have sex.
In his admission of guilt, Cesic committed to cooperating with the
Hague tribunal's Office of the Prosecutor and testifying in other
proceedings.
The Office of the Prosecutor demanded imprisonment from 13 to 18
years, while the defence asked for 13.
Cesic was arrested in Serbia on 25 May 2002. In his first appearance
before the tribunal on 20 June 2002 he pleaded not guilty.
