SABOR DEPUTIES SUBMIT OVER 400 AMENDMENTS TO DRAFT BUDGET

ZAGREB, March 2 (Hina) - By 2 pm on Tuesday, Croatian parliamentary deputies submitted more than 400 amendments to this year's draft state budget, worth some nine billion kuna, or ten percent of the draft budget.
ZAGREB, March 2 (Hina) - By 2 pm on Tuesday, Croatian parliamentary deputies submitted more than 400 amendments to this year's draft state budget, worth some nine billion kuna, or ten percent of the draft budget.#L# The amendments were submitted by opposition deputies, while deputies of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) did not submit any. The Social Democrats (SDP) submitted amendments worth more than three billion kuna, including an amendment on a pension increase worth one billion kuna, and 300 million kuna for the judicial reform. The most demanding individual amendment, weighing 217 million kuna, which refers to the payment of compensation to local Italians who left Yugoslavia in the wake of World War II, was submitted by the Party of Rights (HSP). The value of the amendments is three times higher than the value of last year's amendments. This year's budgetary revenue is projected at 79.5 billion kuna, which is 6.4 percent more than last year, while expenditure totals 84.9 billion kuna, an increase of 5.7 percent compared to last year. The deficit of the consolidated central state is projected at 4.5 percent of GDP and the budgetary deficit at 2.7 percent of GDP.
