Kosovo's efforts invested in achieving standards set by the
international community for the start of negotiations on the final
status of Kosovo, EU High Representative for Common Foreign and

Solana arrived in Pristina on Tuesday morning for a one-day visit to
Kosovo. The European Union will offer political and economic
assistance in the process of meeting those standards, Solana said
after talks with Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova and added the EU
would offer EUR100 million for that purpose.
Solana stressed that local politicians must be engaged in the
implementation of those standards, including the establishment of
dialogue with the authorities in Belgrade.
