PRISTINA, Feb 22 (Hina) - Five Kosovo officials, including Environment and Zoning Minister Ethem Qeku, were wounded in a strong blast which rocked Pec shortly after 10 pm on Saturday, Kosovo Television said citing a police
statement.

The explosion occurred near a sports hall after a basketball match.
Ethem was in a car driving by the sports hall.
Also wounded were the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo
party's Pec branch, Ali Berisha, Pec General Hospital director and
local party official Arzen Bytyqi, and two members of the Kosovo
Protection Corps.
According to hospital reports, their lives are not in danger.
The cause of and motive behind the blast are unknown although it could
have had disastrous consequences since hundreds of sport fans were in
the vicinity when it occurred.
