before.
ZAGREB, Feb 17 (Hina) - The consumer goods basket of the Federation of
Independent Trade Unions of Croatia (SSSH) shows that the minimum
living costs of a four-member family in January increased by 48 kuna
in relation to the month before.#L#
The monthly costs of food, housing, transport, hygiene, clothing,
education and culture rose to 5,343 kuna as against 5,295 kuna in
December 2003.
Food accounted for the largest share of the costs with 1,876 kuna.
Housing cost 1,573 kuna, the costs of education and culture amounted
to 645 kuna, while the costs of clothing, transport and hygiene
totalled 549, 464 and 234 kuna respectively.
The average salary in December totalled 3,946 kuna, which covered
73.84 percent of living costs.
The consumer goods basket was the most expensive in Pula, amounting to
5,707 kuna. Pula is followed by Zagreb with 5,705 kuna, Rijeka with
5,400, Osijek with 5,344, Dubrovnik with 5,272, and Split with 5,219
kuna.
