MOSTAR, Feb 10 (Hina) - An investigative hearing against Ante Jelavic, accused of abuse of office, was held before the Sarajevo Cantonal Court on Tuesday, Jelavic's lawyer Josip Muselimovic told Hina.#L# "The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo today concluded that Jelavic had received the summons for today's hearing in a proper manner at his Mostar address, which means that there was no need for Jelavic's forcible arrest on 23 January," Muselimovic said, referring to the operation of Jelavic's arrest which was carried out by special police forces of the Croat-Muslim federation and the NATO-led peace-keepers (SFOR) last month. The lawyer said that it was interesting that proceedings against Jelavic were also being conducted by the State Court of Bosnia-Herzegovina on the same charges, and added that he was against transferring the case to the state court. On Tuesday, Muselimovic also visited Jelavic in the Kula prison (outside Sarajevo), located on the territory of the Serb entity, where his client has been kept in custody. He said that Jelavic was feeling very well and that some Bosniak (Muslim) intellectuals from Sarajevo had visited Jelavic in prison. Jelavic, a former member of Bosnia-Herzegovina's collective presidency and former leader of the Croatian Democratic Union of B-H, hopes to be released after his month-long detention. (Hina) ms sb
