MOSTAR MOSTAR, Jan 30(Hina) - An initiative called 'Croatian Intellectual Circle '04' which will promote the equality of the Croat people with the other peoples in Bosnia-Herzegovina was set up within the society of writers of
Herzeg-Bosnia, in Mostar on Friday.

Circle '04' which will promote the equality of the Croat people with
the other peoples in Bosnia-Herzegovina was set up within the society

The initiative issued a declaration calling on all Bosnian Croat
intellectuals as well as intellectuals in Croatia and throughout the
world to support the request of the said society for the equality and
sovereignty "in our country, Bosnia-Herzegovina", the declaration
read.
The document reads that the Croatian language is on an unequal footing
in Bosnia-Herzegovina and that Croats are not equally treated in the
Bosnian media and educational system.
The Circle advocates that Bosnia should follow the Swiss model
regarding the organisation of the country.
"Federal units (cantons or regions) should be founded in line with
ethnic, historical, cultural and economic principles. They should be
wholes," the declaration read without any mention of how many federal
units the newly organised Bosnia would have.
