SARAJEVO HOPES TO HOST ANOTHER WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES

SARAJEVO, Feb 10 (Hina) - The president of the International Olympic Committee, Jacques Rogge, has said the Committee will try to create conditions for as many cities and countries as possible to apply for hosting of the Olympic games.#L# We shall try to reduce the cost of such competitions, Rogge told reporters in Sarajevo on Tuesday after talks with Bosnia-Herzegovina's collective presidency. The IOC head arrived in Sarajevo for a two-day visit to attend ceremonies marking the 20th anniversary of the 14th Winter Olympic Games, which took place in Sarajevo in February 1984. During the meeting with Rogge, senior Bosnian officials and representatives of the city authorities did not conceal their ambitions to organise another Winter Olympic Games. Rogge said that the IOC would help Sarajevo and Bosnia in the same manner as it was helping other candidates for hosting the Olympic games, namely by providing assistance in the preparation of documentation and creating basic conditions for submitting candidacies.
