The Brussels meeting was the first public meeting of the leaders of
the two sister parties since their failure to agree on candidates for
the HDZ slate for the electoral unit covering Croats outside Croatia
at the November parliamentary elections in Croatia.
Covic told the radio station over the phone that Sanader, together
with Croatia's President Stjepan Mesic, would attend an international
conference on investments in Bosnia, scheduled for 26-27 February in
Mostar.
Covic said that the Croatian Premier told him that he would arrive in
Mostar for the said conference which would pool over 2,000 business
people and officials from some 50 countries.
In Brussels, Covic as well as Sulejman Tihic of the (Muslim) Party of
Democratic Action (SDA) and Mladen Ivanic of a leading political party
from the Bosnian Serb entity, the Party for Democratic Progress (PDP),
participated in the said congress as guests.
Covic voiced hope that by the end of this year the HDZ BiH would
become an associate member of the EPP, the strongest group consisting
of democratic, conservative and people's parties in the European
Parliament.
