THE HAGUE/ZAGREB, Feb 4(Hina) - The chief prosecutor with the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague, Carla del Ponte, is satisfied with the Croatian new government's statements about cooperation with and the meeting of obligations towards the tribunal, spokeswoman for the Prosecutor's Office Florence Hartmann told reporters on Wednesday.#L# "Croatia has fulfilled obligations regarding access to witnesses and evidence. One big problem remains, and that is Ante Gotovina. We applaud the new Croatian government's approach, but we also expect it to act," she said. Asked if the Prosecutor's Office knew the current whereabouts of General Gotovina, who has been on the run since the Hague tribunal issued an indictment against him in 2001, Hartmann said that according to the latest information Gotovina was in Croatia at the end of last year. "We don't know where exactly Gotovina was in the first weeks of this year, but it is the duty of Croatia's authorities to look for him and report to us on a regular basis, even if the results are negative."
