ZAGREB, Jan 14 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament President Vladimir Seks wrote to his European Parliament counterpart Pat Cox on Wednesday on the occasion of January 15, when 12 years ago to the day the European Union nations officially
recognised independent Croatia, the Croatian Parliament said in a statement.

wrote to his European Parliament counterpart Pat Cox on Wednesday on
the occasion of January 15, when 12 years ago to the day the European
Union nations officially recognised independent Croatia, the Croatian
Parliament said in a statement.#L#
Seks said in the letter everyone in Croatia saw that date as the
concrete realisation of a centuries-long dream which came true through
the official, international confirmation of Croatian statehood and
independence.
Seks stressed present-day Croatia was more determined than ever to
persevere in the realisation of its strategic foreign policy goal --
membership in the EU.
Said objective continues to enjoy the support of all parliamentary
parties as well as of the majority of the public, which is important
for the overall positive attitude in Croatia to European integration
processes, the letter read.
