The six trade union federations that reached agreement on the issue
last Friday believe that comprehensive collective agreements will help
the unions to remain stronger. Otherwise, a large number of deals can
lead to the fragmentation and weakening of unions.
The Federation of Workers Trade Unions of Croatia (URSH), which had
insisted on separate agreements for each profession, accepted the
compromise so that the union federations may adopt a joint stand in
negotiations with the government.
URSH leader Boris Kunst told Hina on Monday that the URSH would
continue to insist on a separate agreement for doctors as the doctors'
union requested it.
