SPLIT, Jan 30(Hina) - Split-Dalmatia County Police said on Friday Slobodna Dalmacija daily reported yesterday that their telephone operator had taken a call from an unidentified man who said he was in possession of information that somebody would try to kill a journalist working for the daily.#L# Police said they were investigating the case and that the journalist, 24-year-old Sasa Jadrijevic Tomas, had been given protection. Tomas told Hina today that he and the editorial board had been pressurised into not running a piece about the 18-year-old son of Assistant Interior Minister Stipe Cacija who, despite a court order, is not paying alimony for the boy, Dario. The Vienna-based South East Europe Media Organisation sent a letter to Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and Interior Minister Marijan Mlinaric today, condemning the death threat made against Jadrijevic Tomas.
