ROME, Jan 22(Hina) - Italian Minister for relations with parliament Carlo Giovardini told Il Piccolo daily on Thursday Italy was not "blackmailing" Croatia regarding the restitution of property abandoned by Italian refugees (Esuli)
during and after WWII on what is today Croatian soil.

Italy is not setting conditions, Giovanardi said. It is not making its
ratification of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between
Croatia and the EU conditional on the restitution of property to the
Esuli. A Croatian-Italian commission will continue to deal with that
issue, the Italian minister said.
