ZAGREB, Jan 22(Hina) - Three-quarters of conciliation cases in labour disputes have been successfully completed since 17 trained conciliators started working in June last year, it was said at a round table debate on conciliation in
labour disputes, which was organised in Zagreb on Thursday. Trained conciliators help parties to a dispute find joint solutions and harmonise their interests so as to avoid lengthy and futile negotiations, lawsuits and strikes. The conciliators' fee, which amounts to 250 kuna per day, is paid by the Ministry of the Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship.

Tea Novak, head of a tripartite dialogue project, which was financed
by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) with 2.5
million kuna, said that another 19 conciliators were completing their
training, after which they would join the Economic and Social
Council's team of conciliators.
