ZAGREB, Jan 17 (Hina) - Ivan Cehok was elected president of the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) at the party's 11th electoral assembly in Zagreb on Saturday.
ZAGREB, Jan 17 (Hina) - Ivan Cehok was elected president of the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) at the party's 11th electoral assembly in Zagreb on Saturday.#L# The party's acting president until now and the mayor of Varazdin, Cehok won the votes of 624 of more than 900 attending delegates, while his counter-candidates Drazen Breglec and Marija Ficurin won 197 and 69 votes respectively. Djurdja Adlesic was reappointed party vice president. Stanko Zrilic, Hrvoje Vojkovic and Zelimir Janjic were appointed to the same post. Cehok said in his address the new party leadership was capable of making the HSLS once again one of the key factors in Croatian politics. "Croatia needs the HSLS, needs a strong social liberal party," he said, adding that the new leadership would be able to recognise its partners in the government while preserving the party's independence.
