Earlier in the day Rupel and his Croatian host, Foreign Minister
Miomir Zuzul, agreed on frameworks and models for the resolution of
some open issues.
The two ministers informed Mesic of their talks and proposals which
they were going to give to the two countries' prime ministers, reads a
press release issued by the Office of the President.
The Croatian president supported the ministers' endeavours and the
models that might lead to the resolution of the open issues between
Croatia and Slovenia.
Mesic and Rupel voiced satisfaction with good bilateral relations in
all fields which in a way, the press release said, were overshadowed
by the open issues. Mesic and Rupel highlighted the considerable trade
between the two neighbours, saying they were important trading
partners. They voiced confidence in the development of good bilateral
relations in the future, too.
