BERLIN, Jan 10 (Hina) - Croatia is interested in intensifying its cooperation with Montenegro, Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader said in Berlin on Saturday after meeting his Montenegrin counterpart Milo Djukanovic.#L# "We are interested in boosting our relations with Montenegro, continuing and strengthening economic cooperation, because we think that a lot more can be done in that area," Sanader told reporters. The two heads of government were attending an international conference on the future of Europe organised by the German Bertelsmann Foundation. Sanader said Croatia wanted to continue with the construction of the Adriatic-Ionian Highway as "a project in the interests of both Croatia and Montenegro", and added that it supported Montenegro's efforts to join the European Union, because Croatia was interested in political and economic stability in its neighbourhood. Djukanovic said he and Sanader agreed that it was necessary to continue political dialogue, and added that a meeting of the foreign ministers had been arranged to define a platform for overall cooperation. "It is encouraging that we share the view that there are great prospects for the promotion of economic cooperation, starting from the use of joint resources such as the Adriatic Sea," Djukanovic said. The Croatian prime minister has had several bilateral meetings in Berlin and was due to meet Slovene President Janez Drnovsek later today. (Hina) vm
