ZAGREB, Jan 8 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Thursday dismissed as
untrue media reports claiming that it had abandoned its plan to build
a highway from Split to Dubrovnik via the Bosnian coastal town of
Neum.#L#
The government said in a statement that it was not planning to give up
its plan to build a highway that would link Zagreb with Dubrovnik via
Split and Neum.
It stressed that the construction of a bridge to the Peljesac
peninsula and the completion of the Split-Dubrovnik highway via Neum
were its most important infrastructure projects.
The statement said that the bridge to the Peljesac peninsula would
help revitalise the economy of the peninsula and the nearby islands.
