ZAGREB, Jan 4 (Hina) - Croatia's President Stjepan Mesic sends a message to the Primate of the Serb Orthodox Church in Croatia, Slovenia and Italy, Metropolitan Jovan and all members of the Serb Orthodox Church in Croatia on the
occasion of Christmas which they celebrate on 7 January, i.e. according to the Julian Calendar.
ZAGREB, Jan 4 (Hina) - Croatia's President Stjepan Mesic sends a
message to the Primate of the Serb Orthodox Church in Croatia,
Slovenia and Italy, Metropolitan Jovan and all members of the Serb
Orthodox Church in Croatia on the occasion of Christmas which they
celebrate on 7 January, i.e. according to the Julian Calendar.#L#
"Periods of holidays are always an occasion for us to review the path
we have so far passed as well as to look ahead," reads Mesic's
message, released by his office.
"I am glad to say that the last year was a year of prosperity of our
Homeland and further development of good relations between
institutions of the Republic of Croatia and the Serb Orthodox Church,"
Mesic wrote in his message.
He pointed out the parliamentary elections in Croatia as one of major
events in 2003. "The Serb minority also elected its representatives,
who, I believe, will promote not only interests of their ethnic group
but will also contribute to the common good of all citozens in the
country. The Serb Orthodox Church through spiritual counselling is
already giving its considerable contribution to this cause,"
