According to a police statement, the arrested person is a citizen of Bosnia-Herzegovina. he was apprehended on suspicion of illegal arms trafficking.
Police also said they discovered a large quantity of explosives in the Sarajevo region. There is a founded suspicion that the explosives belonged to people who had previously been arrested on terrorism charges.
Swedish citizen Mirsad Bektasevic and Turk Abdulkadir Cesir were arrested in Sarajevo on 18 October and Bosnian citizens Bajro Ikanovic and Amir Bajric on 19 October.
According to available information, Bektasevic and Cesir are suspected of having prepared terrorist acts while Ikanovic and Bajric are suspected of providing them with logistical support.
The targets of the attacks were embassies of western countries in Sarajevo.
