The letter, signed by society president Danijel Rehak, was also sent to the ministries of defence, justice, and war veterans. It recalled that Stojanovski officially visited Croatia on the anniversary of the Vukovar tragedy last weekend.
According to the letter, Stojanovski personally commanded a military police company east of Vukovar and directly supervised the surrender of Mitnica on 18 November 1991, of which the society has video footage taken by cameramen of ATN and the former Yugoslav People's Army (JNA).
The letter said Stojanovski commanded a group of military police who captured a dozen members of the 204th Vukovar Brigade's Second Battalion on 18 November 1991, who were then taken in the direction of Vucedol. The letter added that only two survived while the rest were still listed as missing.
It went on to say that on November 19, Stojanovski supervised as Second Battalion soldiers from Mitnica exited a hangar at Ovcara farm and entered buses, personally escorting them to a concentration camp in Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia, insulting and threatening them.
The letter said these were sufficient reasons to indict Stojanovski for war crimes against civilians and soldiers from Vukovar and to make him a persona non grata in Croatia forever.
