The witness, visibly in poor health, told judges at the Split County Court that he had already stated everything he had to say about this case and referred them to the statement he made in 2002.
Katalina was taken to Lora as a civilian on 18 August 1992 for reasons unknown to him, and during the ten days he spent in detention there he "went through the hell of constant torture and maltreatment" the consequences of which he said he still felt today.
Katalina said he had suffered injuries to the spine and had his eardrums pierced and his teeth broken.
The witness noted that he had never been given a writ of detention and release from prison and that there was no document to prove that he had ever been held there or that he had undergone medical examinations at a Split hospital.
Just as he did three years ago, Katalina said he would not be able to identify his abusers and that he would not want to accuse anyone wrongly. However, when pressed by the prosecutors and with guarantees of safety given by the trial chamber, the witness pointed his finger at two of the accused -- Davor Banic and Tonci Vrkic.
Banic said he had never seen Katalina, while Vrkic, rejecting the accusations, said that Katalina knew him probably because he used to be friends with the witness's son for many years. Vrkic stressed that this was exactly why he had ordered that Katalina should not be touched during his detention in Lora.
Also read was a statement the witness had made at the previous hearing, when he said that outside the courtroom several persons had threatened to kill him and that his family had also been threatened by people in the street and over the phone.
