The project is aimed at improving the preservation of the environment in Croatia through a systematic inventory and monitoring of biological diversity and appropriate planning of the protected area management.
The project coordinator at the State Bureau for Environmental Protection, Ana Strbenac, said the EU had given clear directives regarding environmental protection and added that it was necessary to strengthen the Bureau in the process of Croatia's EU integration.
The Croatian Environmental Protection Ministry has announced for next year the drawing up of a new law on environmental protection which will be in line with EU directives.
