In the next 15 years, the state will invest 396 million euros in the irrigation and land and water management projects.
The funds needed to implement the projects will be secured from the state budget, the EU pre-accession funds, the World Bank and from commercial banks in the form of loans.
Cobankovic said that the structure of agricultural produce could not be changed without irrigation.
The Ivo Sanader cabinet today also drew up two bills regulating insurance and investment funds in a bid to adjust them to EU standards.
