Zagreb on Saturday morning in the presents ofpresidents and representatives of about ten national pan-Europeanorganisations and representatives of the European Parliament and theRepublic of Croatia.
ZAGREB, Oct 22 (Hina) - An international conference of the
Croatian pan-European union (HPEU) called "European Constitution and European
Union Prospects, Cooperation between the EU with the Mediterranean - Croatia
2007" opened in Zagreb on Saturday morning in the presents of presidents and
representatives of about ten national pan-European organisations and
representatives of the European Parliament and the Republic of Croatia. The conference pooled representatives of pan-European organisations from
Germany, France, Hungary, Austria, Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia and
Slovakia.
The conference is held under the auspices of Croatian Parliament
Speaker Vladimir Seks who gave a talk and welcomed the present. Seks said the
topic of the conference was more than important for the prospects of the
process of Europe's unification.
He said that the decision of the Council of the EU, dated 3 October, to
open negotiations with Croatia, was Croatia's new international
recognition.
"Croatia has definitely entered the final phase of joining the EU,"
Seks said adding Croatia would continue to implement reforms.
