The event, which focused on European and transatlantic partnerships, was attended by a state-secretary at the Croatian Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry, Marija Pejcinovic Buric, the ministry said in a statement.
The forum was also attended by the EU commissioner for foreign relations, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, and European Parliament vice president Ingo Friendrich.
Participants in the discussion stressed that countries covered by the Stabilisation and Association process had a clear prospect of joining the EU.
The Croatian representative said that the launching of EU membership talks was important not only for Croatia but also for other countries in the region, which she said would see it as an encouragement to follow the same path and continue with reforms.
This year's Europa Forum focused on the EU's political and economic prospects, the future of the European model of welfare state, strategies of development of European and transatlantic partnerships and the future of the European constitution.
