The Oslobodjenje daily quoted an unnamed source from the Bosnian Serb interior ministry as saying that Vasiljkovic had commanded paramilitary units sent from Serbia, which committed war crimes against Bosnian Muslims in the eastern Bosnian town of Zvornik in May and June 1992.
"Vasiljkovic commanded an operation in the village of Glumine where a mass grave with 274 bodies was later discovered," the source told the daily.
He was allegedly sent to Bosnia on the orders of the then Serbian Interior Minister Zoran Sokolovic.
Vasiljkovic's troops stayed in Bosnia until mid-July 1992, after which he left for the northern Serbian town of Zrenjanin and then moved back to Australia.
Vasiljkovic recently came under the spotlight after Australian reporters found that he now lives in Perth under the name of Daniel Snedden,
Croatia has announced that it will ask for his extradition from Australia to prosecute him for war crimes.
