Chinese business people, together with officials of the Chinese ministries of trade and finance are on a visit to Zagreb from 4 to 7 September. The ninth session of the joint Croatian-Chinese economic committee was held in the Croatian capital yesterday as part of the visit of the Chinese delegation to Croatia.
The trade between the two countries reached a record high 642.75 million US dollars in 2004, which was an increase of over 50 percent in comparison to 2003.
Last year, Croatia's export to China totalled only 7.2 million dollars, but a rise in Croatia's exports to that country has been for several consecutive years higher than a rate of the growth of Chinese exports to Croatia, an HGK official told today's forum.
After the forum, managers of Chinese companies from the trade, pharmaceutical, textile, technological, construction and telecommunications sectors held bilateral meetings with representatives of some leading Croatia companies, including Belupo, Chromos, Ingra, Koncar, Kras, Port of Rijeka, Podravka TDR, Zvecevo etc.
