Glavas said that today's session was held after in April they were prevented from holding a founding session in the building of the Osijek County's Chamber of the Commerce.
The steering committee has 60 members.
According to Glavas, a programmatic declaration of the association has been so far signed by 1,100 citizens which he described as the best indicator that the idea about the regionalisation and decentralisation was supported by the grass-roots.
Before the local elections this May, controversial politician Glavas was thrown from the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) with an explanation that he was promoting autonomist politics which was, according to the HDZ leadership, contrary to the plank of the party's programme.
Glavas today announced the founding session of his association on 8 October in Osijek.
