ZAGREB, Aug 29 (Hina) - The Croatian Minister of Foreign Affairs
and European Integration, Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic, on Monday arrived in
Brussels for a two-day working visit to the European Parliament. On the first
day of her stay, the Croatian minister held talks with Pal Schmitt, head of the
European Parliament Delegation on the joint EU-Croatian Parliamentary
Committee, the Croatian Foreign Ministry stated. Grabar-Kitarovic
informed Schmitt about progress in the implementation of the Croatian
government's action plan aimed at locating the runaway general Ante Gotovina.
She also informed him of opinion polls showing a decline in the support of
Croatian citizens to the country's plans to enter the European Union, voicing
hope that Croatians would be more and more in favour of EU membership once the
accession talks start.
On Tuesday, the Croatian minister is scheduled to meet European
Parliament Vice-President Inge Friedrich, Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman
Elmar Brok, Foreign Affairs Committee Rapporteur for Croatia Hannes Swoboda,
and the EPP-ED (European People's Party and European Democrats) Group's
Rapporteur for Croatia, Bernd Posselt.
