Asked whether the Serbian Government had provided guarantees that Karadzic and Mladic would be arrested, Prosper said he did not wish to go public with the details of his talks with Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, but added that he was told that the Serbian Government was ready to solve that issue as soon as possible.
We shall see what measures they will take, Prosper said adding that the consequences of failing to solve that issue were already visible. This country is not making progress towards Europe, Prosper said adding that by arresting the two fugitives the country could become part of the EU.
He said the work of the Chamber and the Prosecutor's Office of the Belgrade District Court was impressive and announced the US would continue to support the court.
