ZAGREB, Aug 24 (Hina) - The Croatian Ministry of the Interior will
soon release the results of an investigation it has launched in Osijek
following accusations by war veteran Adonis Hodzic who claims to have recently
been illegally brought in for police questioning and requested to sign a blank
paper to be used later against local politician Branimir Glavas.
This was stated on Wednesday by Interior Minister Ivica Kirin at his first news
conference after he took up office.
Kirin added that the police would continue to investigate all
allegations of illegal acts regardless of who may be involved in them.
"We want to show that we are not conducting any political persecution
campaign but want to act professionally," Kirin said.
The new minister also announced changes in the organisation of the
ministry aimed at increasing efficiency, including personnel reassignment and
efficiency rewards.
