On that occasion, Bakota expressed satisfaction with bilateral relations which he described as friendly and voiced hope that the economic cooperation between Croatia and Romania would enhance.
The Croatian official thanked the Romanian ambassador for her country's support to Zagreb in a bid to join NATO and for technical assistance which Bucharest offered to Croatia within the process of the association with the European Union.
Ambassador Popa agreed that bilateral relations were excellent and stressed that Romania would continue supporting Croatia on the path toward Euro-Atlantic institutions. She said she hoped that at its next summit meeting NATO would invite Croatia to join this organisation.
