"Dragicevic has not sent any letter to the Office of the President with regard to the case of General Kruljac," the spokeswoman Danijela Barisic said on Tuesday evening.
Dragicevic has been quoted by the latest issue of the Nacional weekly as saying that upon the arrival of the Croatian Army in the Croatian town of Okucani in 1995, Kruljac ordered the killing of an elderly civilian.
Dragicevic also claims that he sent three letters to the Office of the President, in July 2004, and June and July this year, informing it of the case. He also sent a letter to Chief State Prosecutor Mladen Bajic, informing him of the case, but according to him, he has not received any response to date.
Quite contrary, after the mentioned persons received my letter, (Major General) General Kruljac was extraordinarily promoted to Lieutenant-General, Dragicevic was quoted by Nacional as saying.
The promotion of Kruljac was done on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Operation Storm in line with decisions which President Mesic, the army's supreme commander, made promoting also other officers on that occasion.
