"It is painful and difficult to ask this of you, but with all my heart and soul I beg of you to surrender to the ICTY," Ljiljana Karadzic told her husband, who has been on the run for the past 10 years, in Thursday's interview with the television of the Bosnian Serb entity.
"It will be a sacrifice for us and for our family. In the hope that you are alive and can decide of your own will, please make this decision and do this for us all," Ljiljana Karadzic said on the verge of tears, with her hands clasped as though in prayer.
The ICTY indicted Karadzic in 1995 for genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity because of his role in the 1992-5 war in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
