PODGORICA, July 20 (Hina) - Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic said on Wednesday that compensating Croatia for damages was "only a gesture of a responsible neighbour aimed at accelerating the restitution of trust", adding that Montenegrin airports or hotels would not be given to Croatia, but that competent international bodies would decide on possible compensation.

Djukanovic said this in Bijelo Polje on Wednesday evening referring to damage which citizens of Montenegro, who were members of the former Yugoslav People's Army, caused to Konavle municipality in Croatia.

Djukanovic told reporters that Montenegro was not compensating damages because it was not in war with Croatia, stressing that the former Yugoslav People's Army was in war and Montenegrin citizens were only fulfilling their legal obligation.

International institutions will decide should there be compensation for damages, he said.
