OSIJEK, July 20 (Hina) - Independent member of the Croatian ParliamentBranimir Glavas on Wednesday accused the Office of the Chief PublicProsecutor of attempts to frame him for war crimes, and said that hehad performed his duties during the 1991-1995 Homeland War inaccordance with the law and the laws of war.
OSIJEK, July 20 (Hina) - Independent member of the Croatian Parliament Branimir Glavas on Wednesday accused the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor of attempts to frame him for war crimes, and said that he had performed his duties during the 1991-1995 Homeland War in accordance with the law and the laws of war.

Glavas called a press conference in the eastern city of Osijek where he distributed copies of a testimony incriminating him in the killings of Serb civilians in late 1991 in Paulin Dvor, a village just outside Osijek.

Glavas said that the purpose of the testimony, made by Josip Uglik on 13 August 2003, was to compromise him politically, and stressed that he would not tolerate "any trumped-up charges or fake witnesses" against him.
