VARAZDIN, July 9 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament will not reconsider its decision to sent soldiers to Afghanistan, parliament president Vladimir Seks said on Saturday in Poljana Biskupecka, near the northern Croatian town of Varazdin, stressing that Croatian soldiers would be sent to a peace mission.

Seks said this to reporters commenting on a request which some some parties forwarded to Parliament asking it to reconsider its decision on sending military forces to Afghanistan.

"Parliament will not reconsider its decision to send soldiers to Afghanistan. This is a peace mission, all solders credibly represent Croatia and security measures there at at the maximum," said said in Poljana Biskupecka where he opened the 11 festival of sport recreation.

On 1 July, Parliament adopted a decision to sent another 100 soldiers to the ISAF peace mission in Afghanistan by the summer of 2006, increasing the Croatian contingent to some 150 people. Following Thursday's terrorist attacks in London, the Croatian Party of Rights said that Croatia must reconsider its decision to sent additional military forces to Afghanistan because al-Qaida's attacks refer to all countries that sent their soldiers to Afghanistan and Iraq.

Seks said that despite the busy agenda, deputies would be able to adopt all decisions by the end of the regular parliamentary session, namely by July 15.
